1/Fourth was born back in summer 2008, at the rooftop of Tiptop Apartments, where we hosted the End of Summer Rooftop Party (when we were known as London Calling, or LC). That is where CP (DJ/Music Maniac) and Terrence Pree (DJ/Promoter), the founders of LC, met with Seth Warrick (Graphic Artist/Photography Nerd). Together, the trio went about brainstorming a vision on how to make the Omaha nightlife, music, arts, and culture more alive and fresh. After an incredibly successful Vampire Masquerade Halloween Party, which we hosted in 2008, we decided to re-brand ourselves as 1/Fourth in order to mark the beginning of this new vision. Finally, in early 2009, we were joined by the much needed last piece of the puzzle: Nayef Aljuraid (PR/Dance Freak).

1/Fourth exists because we can’t turn the volume down, and we get a kick out of getting you to dance to music you love and music you haven’t heard before. But we don’t just DJ insane indie-dance/house/electro dance parties. 1/Fourth is also about event planning, hosting, art shows, film nights, community, fashion, and really anything that involves cultural movement. And when we host an event, we spend countless hours on research, collaboration, venue-searching, and marketing to make sure you won’t forget the night.

1fourth.com was brought to life to share what we find when we look around elsewhere, and what we see happening here in order to create community and to bring all the movement together. We live in a small city, and yet there is so much going on here that we love to be a part of and want everyone to have access to. All of our friends here have limitless potential, and we love to contribute to that and learn from it at the same time. All of us at 1/Fourth love to travel, and every time we do we want to share the music, fashion, and other movements we come across. So watch for our random weekend vacation posts or just come along next time (but you may not get much sleep).

We want to see this community grow. Our goal is to find writers and enthusiasts from around the city/nation/world who want to share what’s going on with a community anxious to hear, such as us.
